Picnic comes with $2700 price tag

A resort in Florida claims to have created the ultimate destination picnic.

Little Palm Island Resort and Spa, a private island resort in Little Torch Key, teamed up with their chef, Luis Pous to create the picnic menu.

For $2,700, guests will be flown on a Cessna 206 Amphibious Seaplane to a private island for a three hour getaway.  The menu features: Assorted breads, saussicon sec (French dried pork sausage), chorizo, pate de foie gras, truffle butter, three artisanal cheeses, artisanal preserves, gourmet mixed pickles, fourmet spreads including lobster and shrimp, tropical fruit, marinated olives, spiced nuts, key lime cookies and pistachio biscotti.  Wine served includes a bottle of Charles Hiedsieck Brut Champagne, and a choice of either Jordan Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon 2001 or Jordan Russian River Valley Chardonnay 2007.

Additional services like a musician, photographer or private server are available at an additional cost.

For the more budget conscious, at $300 guests can enjoy their picnic en-suite or claim a part of the resort's island for their meal.  The island picnic offers: French baguette, saussicon sec, country pate, two artisanal cheeses and preserves, seasonal fruit, marinated olives, spiced nuts, Key Lime cookies and pistachio biscotti.  Wine served includes: Chateau D'Esclans Whispering Angel Rosé and Cotes De Provence 2009.

Guests can upgrade their island picnic and take it to the water.  For $900, guests can take their meal on the 38' catamaran, The Lilyanna, for three hours. In addition, Lilyanna guests will enjoy the same menu with a bottle of Pinot Noir, Melville, "Estate", Santa Rita Hills, 2008.

Rates do not include tax or a set-up fee.
