Your regular cup of morning Joe just got a little more expensive depending on where you live.
Starbucks Tuesday raised prices on some drinks in several major markets including Southern California (Los Angeles), the Pacific Northwest (Washington and Oregon), the Midwest (Chicago) and Hawaii.

If you think you’re seeing pork everywhere these days, the truth is you are. Restaurants have increased the number of pork dishes they’re offering due to the rising cost of other protein options.
According to foodservice consultants Technomic, pork use is up 7 percent nationally. Pork isn’t being relegated to the main course either. The group found that pork has crept its way into appetizers, mains and side dishes.
KitchenAid announces refrigerator that can turn back time
It's a refrigerator that comes with the claim that it can turn back time.
KitchenAid announced Monday a new refrigeration system that can keep food fresher as much as 25 percent longer than a conventional refrigerator. Called the "Preserva Food Care System," the technology will be coming to a home kitchen near you in early 2012.
KitchenAid said they designed the technology so "cooks [could] store their favorite fresh ingredients longer with less waste and fewer trips to the market."

As more Russians head overseas they are starting to demand some of the culinary delights they've sampled on their travels. And now one region of Russia along the Black Sea Coast is trying to capitalize on this movement.
Emeril expands restaurant empire
Chef Emeril Lagasse is moving into the Queen City.
The celebrity chef announced late last week that he will be opening a new restaurant called "e2 Emeril's Eatery" in Charlotte, NC.
The announcement confirms several rumors that have been circulating across the city since construction began on a space near the city's new downtown Mint Museum.

Starbucks gets into the bean growing business
It's a first for Starbucks, the Seattle-based coffee chain is getting into the business of growing its own beans.
Starbucks is permanently planting its flag in the Far East, opening its first bean farm and processing plant in China's southwestern Yunnan province. The company hopes their first base farm will help them corner the relatively untapped Chinese coffee market.
